Alessandro Taverna, pianist

Italian award-winning pianist Alessandro Taverna will perform a solo piano recital of all Chopin works in honor of the composer’s 200th birthday.  The recital will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 7:30pm in Hudson Hall at Willamette University.  Tickets are $15 adults, $10 education employees, and $5 students. Alessandro won 1st prize in the 2009 Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition, and followed that with a 2nd prize win in the London International Piano Competition and 3rd prize in the Leeds International Piano Competition.  The Guardian (UK) writes of him, “Remember his name, I expect we will be hearing more of him in the future.”
